FILM FESTIVAL June 2 to 8, 2011 The 3rd Annual KIEV INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (KIFF) brings a dynamic lineup of world cinema to audiences in Kiev, Ukraine. With a goal of establishing dialogue between cultures and nations and to support the development of Ukrainian cinema, KIFF provides a wide array of titles from around the world and brings together local audiences and global industry players. The Festival's program has expanded to feature almost 100 films from 40 countries worldwide. KIFF accepts both feature and short films for competition and is especially interested in works with a strong musical component. Features in competition will compete for the $20,000 USD Best Feature Film award. The Dimitri Tiomkin Prize, named after the Ukrainian-born composer, will be presented to a world-renowned composer during the Festival. Recent attendees have included Academy Award-winner Adrien Brody, famous Ukrainian Bond Girl Olga Kurylenko, director Stanislav Govorukhin, Casper Van Dien, and Japanese cinema legend Mieko Harada. Last season's Jury was comprised of such famous names as Otar Losseliani (MONDAY MORNING), Vadim Perelman (HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG), Armen Djigarkhanyan (SNOW IN MORNING), and Marcel Lozinski (89 MM OD EUROPY), among many more.
